more pics of b.b.b. (baby boy burleigh)

Let's start off with the real reason David and I even went to get an ultrasound.  To find out what we are having --

**********
The baby was in a really awkward position.  The ultrasound tech wanted to get some 3D pics, so she had me get up, use the restroom and do some stretching to see if he would move around.  When I laid back down, this is the position he was in.  I think he might be another Braxton ... VERY flexible.  It's a little hard to tell, but, he is bent right in half at the hips.  His entire leg is laying flat against his body with his FOOT touching the top of his head.  Hmmmm, comfy! (The tech was laughing SO hard!)

Another pic of our gymnast.  Mind you, he stayed in this position for about 10 minutes, at least!  She tried her darndest to get him to move ... and he would not.  (Sounds a little stubborn to me.  Oh JOY!)

**********
This is just a profile pic. (Looks like he's blowing bubbles ... but if I recall right, I believe she said it was part of his umbilical cord.)  We saw him yawn, suck his thumb, etc.  It was funny.  Really, I can't imagine just hanging out for 9 months in a pool of amniotic fluid.  I guess it's a good thing I don't remember it.  I think I would have been bored.

However, we do have to go back in about 6 weeks.  I had marginal placenta previa with Braxton and my BIG fear was that I'd have it again.  Basically, for those of you who don't know, placenta previa is when the placenta is covering the opening to the cervix.  If that is the case, when you labor, the baby coming out would push the placenta out first - causing hemorrhaging and ultimately could lead to maternal and fetal death.  Fortunately for me, as my tummy got bigger, the placenta moved farther and farther away from the cervix.

I don't have placenta previa this time, but I do have a low-lying placenta.  Which means, the placenta isn't covering the opening to the cervix at all.  She said it's probably only about 1cm away from the opening though.

In a few weeks I will go back (as I get bigger) and make sure that my growing belly is pushing it away from the cervix and not into it.  NICE.

I swear, if it isn't stressing over one thing, it's definitely stressing over something else.

Oh well, the baby is healthy and looks good :)  And, I will count my blessings for now.

A few of you have asked about baby names -- as of now, we don't have one picked out.  I'm pretty sure we have a middle name picked out, but I have a few boy names I like that David isn't too fond of.  He has a few names he likes, and although I like them, I just don't LOVE them.  Hopefully within the next 20 weeks, we can come to some sort of agreement.  LOL.
