President Packer

David and I had the opportunity to listen to President Packer yesterday in church.

I'm a bit hesitant at posting this -- because it seems a while back, some email was going around about what another apostle (seems like Pres. Packer, though) said and everyone was flipping out.  Then another email was being sent out saying, "When they speak to a group of people, it's meant only for the ears of those who are there ..." etc, etc.

However, I don't feel that anything I'm saying would be a shock to anyone.

He is such a sweet man!  He needed help from men getting up the stairs.  It was awesome to feel the spirit in the room with him in there.  Almost as awesome as when David and I had the opportunity to have President Monson walk right in front of us!  Literally, we could have touched the Prophet!  However, we would have been tackled by his bodyguards!!!

I guess I just want to share with everyone my overall feeling of the meeting.  And maybe just a few things which was said, but it wasn't anything NEW.  It's always the same thing over and over, right?  We just don't get it and need to be reminded, constantly.

He began by saying to not be fearful, be faithful!  It's so true.  If we are faithful, there really is no need to fear.

It's the same message we have ALWAYS heard, try to be obedient as much as possible!  Keep the commandments!  Pay your tithing!  PRAY!

Really, for the sake of your children -- please, please, PLEASE ... pay a full tithe!  That is all I am going to say.  But heck, we should know that right?

In other news!  David and I are moving :)  And we are so ecstatic!  We have been knowing we need to move for a while.   It's a long story - but basically, our landlord said, we could have a year lease.  Then, he acted sweet like ... we'll sign the lease as soon as you get back from your honeymoon.  To this day ... no lease!  Even though David has brought it up NUMEROUS times!

He also said we could be here a year.  About 3 months after we moved in, he put up the "FOR SALE" sign!   Yeah, nice.  Our washer and dryer has been broken for about 4 months now, he won't fix it.  Our roof leaks, he won't fix it.  Um .... yeah.

So, David has been on a manhunt for a nice place, that isn't much  more expensive, that will fit our family's needs.  Especially with the new baby on the way.  He has been working overtime on this folks ... I felt so bad for him.  Poor guy!

Well, after we were both very discouraged on settling for a not-so-nice place AND paying more ... we really feel like Heavenly Father just sent a blessing straight to us.

We found an AWESOME townhome that is perfect.  We are going from a 3 bedroom 1 bath house about 1000 sq feet to .... drum roll 3 bedroom (possibly 4)  2.5 bath, living room, family room - (two laundry hookups) probably about 2000 sq. feet.  It's going to perfect.  Plus, it's only a bit more than we are paying now.  Our landlord is an absolute ANGEL.  She is such a sweet lady - and asked David if he could be a handyman and help her with a few things.  Unlike the landlord we have now, she is willing to take some rent off for any improvements we make!  YAY!  Would our landlord now do that, heck no.  He said he will, but then, never did.

So.  Even though our life has been filled with stress (who's isn't?) we do know that Heavenly Father has been watching out for us.  Plus, we signed a two year lease!  So, this will be the first time I've ever lived in one place for longer than a year in .... about 8 years!

WA.

HOO.
