29 weeks.... and all is well.

Wow.  Can it really be?  I am really at the end of this pregnancy.  SO exciting!

Yesterday I had my 29 week check-up.  Everything is looking great!  AND I this time I had only gained 2 lbs.  I can handle that.  My goal is still to gain 25 or less.  I might be able to do it.   So far I've gained 17.  I guess now, I'm pretty much done gaining the weight -- it will be the baby packing on the weight now.  I hope he's a chubby little guy.  With fat rolls upon fat rolls.  Gotta love it!

The baby is looking REALLY good.  He's still head-down.  He's been head down for about 6-8 weeks now, so hopefully that won't change.

Our midwife explained that I'll probably start getting a lot more Braxton Hicks now.  I guess about 10 weeks before birth the body sends out it's "birthing invitations" to the rest of the body so they can start planning for the party.  (Her words, not mine.)  So, I'm expecting the best of the best.  FUN STUFF!

The more active I become -- the more contractions I seem to be having.  She said this will probably get worse the further along I get.  This is my motivation to get my house in order!

David and I have a "feeling" this baby may come early.  The earliest I can birth out of the hospital is at 37 weeks.  So, that would be June 9th.  YAY!

Baby is about as big as a basketball right now and is approximately 16 inches long.  Weighing almost 3 lbs.  During the ultrasound you could see fluid in his tummy -- so he's snacking on that amniotic fluid.  Yumm-o!  His heartbeat is sounding awesome and when mommy pokes and prods at him ... his heartbeat shoots way, WAY up.  Which is a good sign.  That means that his nervous system is kicking in, just the way it should be around this time.  SO cool how all of this works.

After our appointment David and I went to our favorite store, Costco.  I am happy to announce that we bought our first package of diapers and wipes.  WAHOO.  Gotta start stocking up!

Now time for a funny story.

Braxton and Benjamin are seriously so into Transformers, it's scary!  Although, I am glad that it has pulled Braxton out of his "wiggles" phase!

So, Brax and Ben have transfomer sunglasses.  They were downstairs playing transfomers the other day and we could hear them just laughing and laughing.

David was still at home and Ayla was on Spring Break.  Just before David left for work he said, "we should really have family prayer before I leave - because it's rarely ALL of us in the morning for prayer."

We called down to the boys.  They couldn't hear us.  So, I said, "yell at them through the vent." (the room they were in was right below our room).  I didn't know David was going to do this but he crawled over to the vent and said:

"Autobots.  This is Optimus.  I have a mission for you.  Autobots, roll out!"  You heard the boys quiet right up and said, "IT'S OPTIMUS, LET'S GO!"  They came barreling up the stairs.  I was laughing SO hard.  I've never seen them come so quickly when called.

They ran up to David and said, "What is it Optimus."  He continued, "Autobots, I have a mission for you.  It's called ....... Family Prayer."  Brax and Ben immediately fell to their knees and folded their arms.

It was SO DANG funny.  We said prayer and then I started laughing again and said, "honey, that was so hilarious!"  Braxton turned to me and said, "human ... his name is not 'honey' it is 'optimus'."  Again, I started cracking up!

We also began unloading our boxes from the garage that day.  The boys were more than happy to help.  We were taking our food storage down into the storage room downstairs.  David would tell the boys, "Autobots, your mission is to place these bombs carefully on the shelf.  If they don't get put on the shelf, they will explode and the earth will be destroyed."  Braxton's eyes got all huge and leaned over to David and said, "um, Optimus, this is just pretend, right?  Because this is really just baking soda, right?"  David was like ... "yeah, Brax.  We are just pretending."  Braxton continued, "ok!" (with a thumbs up sign.)

SO FUN.  I love this stage of their life right now!

You have to understand though -- David does impersonations REALLY well.  So he sounds EXACTLY like Optimus Prime.  So flippin' cute!
