Pioneer Weekend

We had a really good weekend.

Friday David only worked until noon. He came home and we got ready for a barbeque that we were hosting at our house with our friends, the Millers and the Poulsens.

David was finally able to use the new grill we got him for Father's day and he LOVED it.

Afterwards we went into our backyard and set off some small fireworks, pop-its and sparklers. Then we got ready to go to the BIG fireworks.

On Saturday we went to the Days of '47 rodeo. It was supposed to be "free." We only ended up paying $75 to get in. Okay, $55 because we were reimbursed $20. LOL. How does that happen, you ask? Well, we supposedly had been given "free" tickets from the Schmerklefitt's. (name has been changed to protect identity) However, the Schmerklefitt's were then late and by the time we got to the ticket agents to hand them our "free" passes - all of the "free" seats had been taken. (It was a first come first serve basis.) So, in order to get in, we had to bu y a ticket for $15/person.

Then, upon entering ... there was a BUNCH of "free" seats still in the upper bowl. That's enough to REALLY tick me off!!!

RRRRrrrrrr. But, the boys had fun! Ben and Brax got a cowboy hat. YEEEE-HAW! And we had fun ... with the Schmerklefitt's :)

We have no pics of these wonderful events. Our camera was busted! We have yet to figure out our new one.....

  1. Hey I was there friday night. Pres Monson was there too. He was only about 50 feet from me and everybody was lined up for a mile to catch a pic of him. Pretty crazy! It was a good rodeo though! If I would have known you were going to be there I would have stuck around to say hello! Oh well I am glad you had fun!
