I am SO, SO excited. Like I said in an earlier post ... David and I had our second pre-natal appointment a week ago today. I was 13 weeks along. David brought along our new camcorder and we got the ultrasound all on tape. It was so adorable because we caught a "perfect" and I mean perfect side view of our baby. You could see his/her profile of their face, the side view of his/her body and even tiny knobby knees in a bent position. His/her little fists were just waving around and frequently went up near his/her mouth. :) It was SO awesome.
When I was pregnant with Brax, my doctor only did two ultrasounds .... one at the beginning to make sure I was pregnant .... and then one to see the gender. So, I never got to see him at this stage and it was so much fun!
So, here is the comparison of the two visits, sorry they are pictures of pictures ... not the best quality:
So, I'd say this is pretty self-explanatory. The black whole is my uterus. The little cirlce on top is the head, the bigger oval thing is the body--
Now, I was shocked at the size difference! This is a sorda side view/back side view of the baby. Big circle on the right, is the baby's head. Then you'll see kind of a white line under the head, that is the babies spine and body and the small little vague dots are it's legs/feet. Isn't that incredible? I think it is, but then again, this is my baby and I'm pretty proud of him/her no matter what!--

I get a weekly update on what is going on in my pregnancy, so here is what the professionals say:
Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
Did you hear that folks. My baby can now officially pee! What a big accomplishment. Well, all the other stuff is pretty darn swell, too.
I am one proud Momma!
How cool! Isn't pregnancy so miraculous?
