Sledding

K, so on the 20th, I had a bit of a birthday party for myself.  LOL.  How cool am I?  Actually -- I invited my sister,  Malinda, and her family over for "the holidays".  We were invited to their house for Thanksgiving but couldn't make it.  So, I really wanted to see them sometime for the holidays.  I thought to myself what better time for Christmas and (hehe) a day before my birthday.

Anyway, they came down and we had a light lunch and headed out sledding.  Braxton has never been before and had a really fun time!  Ayla was a hit with Malinda's little girls and they all wanted to go with her.  And of course, Benjamin, well he has a good time wherever he goes.

I went sledding a little myself.  Of course, I would start in the middle of the hill so as not to injure myself or the baby.

Malinda's little Ashlyn (almost 2) got plowed over by a 15-16 year old boy on a sled.  You could tell he felt really bad.  I don't know if he got injured or just felt super bad, but both Malinda and I noticed he never went down the hill again.  As for Ashlyn, she did survive.  She stopped crying within a few minutes and was back to laughing.  That is always a good sign!  She was however done with sledding.

The hill we were on was HUGE.  Ayla and David went down it and man ... they flew.

Right as we were leaving (we were the last ones to leave ... it was super dark) Ayla and David decided to take one last ride down "THE HILL".  Right as they were about to go down, some guy walking dogs asked Malinda and I a question about Venus in the sky .... so we were talking to him and didn't really get to see them sled down the hill.  But Ayla said they flew down and caught a ton of air and slid way down the mountain, too.  It was fun!

We had a blast and it was really good to see my sister.  I rarely see her and her family.  So, it was a wonderful day :)

I wish I had pics -- but I don't.  Part of David and my Christmas present to each other was a new camcorder (for ya know, upcoming births) and so everything we have is all on video.  If I were smart, I'd post video ... but, I always have issues and can never get those posted either.  It says it's too big.  Well, how the crap do you make it smaller ?????  I swear, I wish I was more computer literate!
