Wow.  After this week, my first trimester of pregnancy will be over!  That's insane!
----------
Here is what is going on now:

The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast thTat they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

----------

Pretty insane stuff going on.  I wasn't too terribly tired in the beginning - nor did I have to use the restroom that much more.  However, I am now noticing these symptoms.

I also am having a hard time getting comfortable at night and when I wake up, it takes me quite a while to get back to bed.  I'm used to sleeping, anywhere, anytime, anyplace ... so that has become an adjustment for sure!

So there you have it.  David and my next appointment will be next Tuesday :)  I'll be 13 weeks.

  1. Isn't it insane how quickly they grow inside of you?! Shoot! -Although...could you imagine it taking any longer than 9 months? I mean, I've never been pregnant before, but...yeah. Beyond 9 months seems insane.

Anyway, I'm so glad for you! :)
