bye bye, bumblebee

So, on the 20th, we sold my car.  :(  I can't believe I'm actually sad about it.  We've needed a bigger mode of transportation ever since we've been married.  I've longed to have more space -- however, let me explain why it makes me sad.

One thing that Braxton was "into" was transformers.  Well, he still is.  He loves anything to do with transformers.  Half the time, that is all he is talking about.  Most mornings, he wakes up and tells me his transformer dreams!

One of his favorite cars is "bumblebee."  Bumblebee is a Chevy Camaro.  Well, one day (clear back around his birthday) he realized, my car was also a Chevy.  He saw the insignia on my car and flipped out.  "Mom!  We have bumblebee???!!!"  I, of course, played along and said, "yep!" and it just snowballed from there.

Lots of times, I am busy in the car, so I will drive with my leg.  (I still haven't ever caused an accident, FYI)  Well, Brax noticed this one day and said, "Is bumblebee driving all by himself?"  Again, I played along.  So every once in a while, he asks me if bumblebee can drive.  I'll put up my hands and let the car drive itself and he'll just laugh and laugh!

After a while of doing this, Ben caught on and started playing this game as well.  It's been really fun to hear them talk about how much they LOVE bumblebee.  They even get out of the car and as they shut the door they thank him for the nice ride they have had.   "Bye, bye bumblebee.  Thank you for the nice ride.  See you later...."

So, yes.  It is true.  I am a bit sad.  I've had that car for 5 years and I guess it just reminds me a ton of Mr. Brax and our adventures together.

When I told the boys that we had to go take pictures, because bumblebee was getting a new owner.  Braxton looked down a bit sad.  I felt bad and I told him that it would be ok.  He took a big sigh and said, "Oh well, we're just going to have to go get Iron-hide!  He's a GMC, ok mom?"

So, wish us luck as we search for our Iron-hide.

I told the boys that we should go tell bumblebee goodbye and Braxton immediately ran over and gave bumblebee a kiss and hug :(  Ben decided he'd say goodbye, too.
