I know all of my blog followers were waiting anxiously on there seats to see what kind of AWESOME things I had planned for the evening. So, I am going to start where I left off.
Braxton spent Friday night with his dad. I was to meet Jeff at noon to pick him up. (Jeff couldn't keep him the full weekend.) Well, David had told Ayla that when I left to go pick up Brax, she could then leave to go hang out with her friends for the day.
Ayla wear's her hair with her bangs brushed to the side - however, she wanted to put her hair up today and her bangs back, with a little bump in the front. She asked if I would help. GLADLY! I pulled out the hairspray, circle brush and the blow dryer :) CAUTION: Fun times ahead!
So because her bangs always are pulled forward, I knew that is the way they would want to naturally lay - so I needed product. LOL. All girls know what I'm talking about here:
1. Put some mousse in bangs and rub with friction.
2. Pull bangs straight up and spray with hairspray.
3. Put round-brush behind bangs and lay bangs back on brush.
4. Blow dry like there is no tomorrow!
And of course, the beautiful, finished product.
Don't worry though folks ... once we got it bobby-pinned it was under control, I promise. However, I am sad to say that I forgot to get a pic of it. (HEHE, no proof!)

Now it is time to move on to the blessed occasion, which we fools call, Valentine's! David got home from school and I made him stay in the living room until I got his brunch ready for him. Of course, it was just like everyone's elses.
Here is his placemat:
And here is him about to dig in:

Then after finishing he ever so slyly said, "I forgot my books in my car."
Well, let me start over -- I swear that whenever I try to surprise him. HE ALWAYS FINDS OUT ABOUT IT!!! It is SO not fun for me.
So, as soon as he said, "I forgot my books in the car ..." I busted out with a smile and said, "Does someone have presents for his wife?" He got a goofy look on his face and I knew he was busted. I was so excited that he got caught. For once in his life.
He came in with these perty little bags:
(Lucky guy ... I hadn't even showered ....):
He bought me expensive chocolates! I have NEVER in my life, ever, had anyone do that for me. I thought that it was so sweet! Literally. (And pretty, too) However, I was a bit sad because ... well, you'll see later:

About this time, Braxton realized that he is hungry as well, so I do the whole little schpeel for him, too:

Moving on to dinner. Since we had eaten out the night before - I wanted to have a romantic dinner with just him and I at home. So what did we do? Made the kids ramen and sent them up to there room to watch a show. Yeah, we are really cool parents. Then we threatened them with their lives that if they even so much as opened the door a crack, they would be beaten within an inch of their lives. (I never understood that saying.) Just Kidding. We just asked them to please let us have alone time for a little while.
I made homemade alfredo w/asparagus and David cooked steak. I then had him go upstairs for just a few minutes while I put the finishing touches on the table.
I went and got candles and placemats today. I bought the ingredients to make homemade italian cream sodas (THE BEST, EVER) and then I put a rose and his free pedicure/massage coupon on his plate. (David works on his feet all day, everyday, and complains a lot about how badly his feet hurt. He loves having his feet rubbed :)

Our fancy dinner. It was really quite good, I might add:

Then I topped it off with some chocolate mousse dessert. However, we were both so stuffed, that we didn't even touch them last night. However, they still looked real pretty :)

And last but not least. I, too, had boughten strawberries and chocolate to hand-dip them. David loves white chocolate and I knew that I would never be able to find them in the store. Plus, I really hate spending like 8 times as much as it really costs, just because someone else did it for you. So, I made them myself. Then I felt stupid though, because his strawberries were so much nicer than mine. However, it's the thought that counts, right? Plus, I gave him 7 more coupons for pedicures/massages. :) Why 7? Because, 7 coupons for later ... plus 1 for tonight = 8! Yep. I didn't come up with 8 for no reason. Those of you who know me well, know what I'm talking about :)
That was our Valentine's Day in a nutshell.
Hope all of you had a wonderful Valentine's :)
xoxoxo
I'm apologizing ... this is a bit out of order.
Yesterday morning when David went out to the car for school, I had this bottle for him on the dashboard. My little "message in a bottle" for him.
