Ayla's birthday ... (continued)

I'm sorry --- I wrote this on the 18th, but didn't get around to actually posting it until 10 days after her birthday :)  Pick me for "mother of the year" award!!!

So Friday was a bit nuts!  I got up and got breakfast ready -- straightened up the house somewhat for a few hours.  Then I had to get Braxton and I ready because we were going to meet with Braxton's Guardian Ad Litem.  (For those of you LUCKY enough to not have to deal with exes, that's an attorney for the child.)  But, that is a WHOLE 'nother story......

I expected to be there for about an hour.  Maybe two.  Oh no, it was 4 1/2 hours long.  By the time I got home it was 6'ish.  I felt so bad because Ayla really didn't have much of a birthday on her birthday.  We promised we were going to make it up for her the next day though.

Ayla had a sleepover Friday night then her mom was coming Saturday to visit her in the afternoon for about 4 hours.

I got up at 6:30 ... and prepared some things, then I had to go to the store to get other things .... then I had to come home and make the cake.  

I always invision and amazing cake.  Then, I'm so bummed when they turn out ... just like any other cake.  I think it was done one minute and about 5 minutes later, we had to start hacking into it.  Danielle had to leave by 6:00 and we wanted her there for the cake and ice cream.

Anyway... it was a better birthday experience, for Ayla then her actual birthday, I think.

We then handed her a teeny bag and let Ben give it to her.  We said it was from the boys.  She didn't look to happy, but when she opened it up and saw it, she was ecstatic!:

I had also given her a makeup bag the morning of her birthday.  She is now allowed to wear mascara and lip gloss.
