Um, whoops. My mistake!

David has had a strong feeling from the beginning of my pregnancy that this little guy is going to come early.  My fear has been that I'll be 43 weeks pregnant when he decides to make his arrival...

However, over the last few weeks, he (the baby) has been proving to me that he is a strong, active, anxious little guy and I've changed my mind a bit.  Maybe he will come early.

Well, last week we sat down for dinner and right before we finished I felt a "gush...".  Yeah, not good when you are only 30 weeks pregnant.  I didn't say anything, I got up went to the restroom and did some investigating.  Yep, it had gone clear through to my pants.  Nice.

I came and told David, "um, I'm a little worried my water may have broke."  His response, was, "well how much was it exactly?"  I then turned around and showed him my proof that it was more than just a little bit.

He immediately tells me to get upstairs to our room and lay down while he calls my midwife.

I'll cut to the chase ... Um, turns out --

I JUST PEED MY PANTS!  Who knew?  Definitely, NOT me.

Please note, I have been potty-trained since 18 months and have had absolutely NO accidents... EVER!  Well, apparently, 25 1/2 years later, I can no longer say that!!!

You would think I could tell that I had peed --- nope.  Felt like something else to me.  The real kicker is, I had just gone to the restroom too.  But apparently, pregnant women don't always get out all that's in there because of the way the baby may be laying on your bladder.

I still have a hard time believing this happened -- BUT, it has to be right, because I never went into labor :)

Do me a favor, let's just keep this between you and me, K?  Shhhhhhh.  It happens.  (and apparently, so does pee.  haha)

  1. Heh heh heh...ya know, I'm SO not judging you on this one. Pregnancy does all sorts of stuff to a gal's body (not to mention emotions and stuff.) Your "secret" is safe with me :)
